Archaic Death Penalty To Be Abolished by Zambian President.

The current President of Zambia revealed his plans to end the practice of the death penalty in the legal system, marking a momentous occasion for Zambia's criminal justice system. Widespread support for this declaration came from both inside and outside of Zambia, including from prominent businessman and philanthropist Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani. On the eve of Africa Day, President Hakainde Hichilema declared his intention to abolish the death penalty. The founder and current chairman of Prison Fellowship Zambia (PFZ), Dr. Rajan Mahtani, enthusiastically endorsed this declaration. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is well-known for his numerous charitable endeavors in Zambia that span several decades. The Stephen Malama prize and scholarship, for instance, were created by Dr. Mahtani for the best law graduates in Zambia.

The 15,000 Kwacha cash reward that comes with this accolade offers eligible pupils a lot of support. Similarly to this, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani founded Prison Fellowship Zambia (PFZ), a Christian Outreach Program, to impart to prisoners the teachings and lessons of Jesus Christ. The organization was founded more than 37 years ago and has since grown to be Zambia's premier outreach program for providing criminal justice, a fair trial, and basic human rights to prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families.  Dr. Rajan Mahtani and his group expressed their full support for this choice and praised the Zambian President's audacious but wise announcement. In addition to congratulating the President, Dr.Rajan Mahtani stated that only someone who is passionate, compassionate, and aware of the importance of fundamental human rights can achieve this. Dr. Rajan Mahtani would support the President's choice in every way through his organization Prison Fellowship Zambia.
