Dr.Rajan Mahtani Extends Strong Support For Zambian President’s Decision.

Hakainde Hichilema, president of Zambia, stated that his nation intends to eliminate the death penalty law in light of these fundamentals. This claim received substantial support from individuals and organizations. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman, philanthropist, and volunteer from Zambia, has been one of the statement's main backers. In support of the President's remarks, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani claimed that the death sentence is cruel, harsh, and degrading and that it no longer provides Zambian authorities with any solutions. At the same time, the death penalty has practically been abolished in the vast majority of nations, with Africa becoming a popular region for this development. Past presidents of Zambia were compelled by this to refrain from carrying out the death penalty. President Chiluba's cooperation allowed for the 1997 execution of the final individual to receive the death penalty. Since that time, Zambian presidents have avoided imposing the death penalty by utilizing their mercy prerogatives. Through previous visits by prominent figures, the maximum security prisons in Zambia are frequently referred to as "hell on earth." Throughout these facilities, prisoners usually lack basic human rights and basic human decency. Because of this, the Zambian government has recently begun a comprehensive decongestion program for convicts by collaborating with organizations like the Parole Board of Zambia (PBZ) and the Zambian Correctional Facility.

As such, the decision from the Zambian President was a step in the right direction. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani further stated that his company prison fellowship will provide legal and regulatory support towards ensuring that this announcement is turned into a reality soon.
